If you wish to prevent Outlook from automatically marking items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane, select the Only when opened in a separate window radio button. I'm trying to make it work the best I can for me until then. By default, Outlook automatically processes meeting and poll responses so you won't see those emails in your inbox. Go to the Menu at the top of the screen, click Outlook and select Preferences.
#Outlook stop marking as read upgrade
I'm loving Hubspot and really want to upgrade but I have to reach that point. My IT expert is here tomorrow so hoping he can sort that out. But for some reason while that has all my email folders it shows nothing in the inbox - totally nothing to do with Hubspot but I can't link HubSpot until I sort it. I've just had a windows box set up for me and I'm hoping to test this out, though I'm wary now. When we don’t read an E-mail Message that we have received in Outlook the Title of the Message and the Body that appears in our Inbox are Bold. This means that the Message is Unread. When we Delete this Message without even reading it, it moves into to the Deleted Items Folders.
But I do wish Microsoft would do a mac version of software that did the same as the Windows one. There is an option that says mark as read after x. I've got Outlook but only on Mac, I do wish it worked with that. The immediate cause of the Outlook is marking my messages as Read error is a failure to correctly. It wasn't the best experience I have to say. Hubspot can send out it just can't currently receive. I can't find anything in Gmail that does this (so it says) but I've now turned off Gmail being able to receive my email only being able to send. Literally, all my email (and there is a lot) suddenly turned to being marked as read, meaning all the ones I'd left unread so I could find them were gone in one fell swoop.
